Low Road
This commercial used lots of quotation from news papers to try to convince people that McCain is not the president they want. It also used those images and words to prove that Obama try hard to do whatever he promises. The commercial showed picture that McCain took smiley with Bush, and this picture made people think that McCain did have the same policy with Bush. Because Bush’s policy is failed so badly, people would think McCain’s policy is going to fail too. Also, since Obama had a different policy with McCain, people would like to believe that Obama’s plan would bring America a better future. Those plans that list in the commercial also had emotion attach to it. Like tax cutting, finding other fuels, lowing the price of gas, etc. are all things people would want for these days. The commercial used the difference of color to show the emotion too. Most images about McCain only had black and white color which gave people a sad and depressed feeling, and everything about Obama was very colorful which gave people a feeling of hope.

Excellent work. Campaign commercials are always a great place to think about logos, ethos and pathos, because they use every trick in the book to make people want to vote for a particular candidate and not for the other. You've shown precisely how this advert builds up Obama while tearing down McCain, employing ethos, pathos and logos to make its points.
